Congregation Kol Emet joyfully invites all congregants to participate in the unique mitzvah of completing a Torah.
As you may be aware, a new Torah is being scribed especially for Kol Emet. There will be three opportunities to join a soferet in writing the final letters in the Torah:
Sunday, May 18 9:40am – 10:30am 10:10am-11:10am 10:50am - 11:30am 11:20am - 12:00 noon
Tuesday, May 20 4:40pm – 5:30pm 5:10pm-6:00pm 5:50pm 6:40pm 6:20pm - 7:00pm
Thursday, May 22 9:40am – 10:30am 10:10am-11:10am 10:50am - 11:30am 11:20am - 12:00 noon
There will also be an opportunity to watch the stitching of the final columns together and the entire Torah to the Atzei Chaim (Torah rollers). (DATE TBA - check back to sign up!)
Please select one of the dates and time slots if you wish to participate.
Space is limited so if you sign-up, please be sure to keep the commitment. If your plans change, it’s critical you let us know so we can offer your space to someone on the wait list.
While this opportunity is complimentary to the congregation, if you wish to make a donation in honor of this mitzvah, proceeds will be used to repair the other Torahs in our ark and for other ritual events.
